Set Tally Privacy Policy

Distilled Intellect, Inc. · [email protected] · This policy covers the Set Tally app. The website is covered by the main Distilled Intellect privacy policy.

PRIVACY POLICY. Last updated October 18, 2026. Set Tally is published by Distilled Intellect, Inc. (“we”).

The short version. Set Tally keeps your training log on your phone. There are no accounts and no server that stores your data, and we never see your workouts. The app does not track you, show ads, or share your information with anyone.

What the app stores, and where. Everything you enter is saved in the app’s own storage on your phone: workouts, sets, cardio, routines, exercises and notes; your profile (name, age, sex, height, weight, training level and goals); body measurements, scans and fitness tests; the sore and protected areas you mark; your supplement and medicine list; your emergency contact; your gym card number; and your settings. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it, so save a backup first if you want to keep it.

Apple Health and Health Connect. With your permission, Set Tally reads your workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, steps, calories burned and eaten, and body weight and composition from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), to fill in your workout summaries and your body and heart cards. What it reads is kept only in the app on your phone. With your permission it also saves each finished workout to Health; turn that off in Settings → Watch & Health. Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never sent to us. You can change these permissions at any time in your phone’s settings.

Your watch over Bluetooth. During cardio, Set Tally can connect to your watch’s heart-rate broadcast to show your pulse live. It reads only your heart rate, from the one watch you pick, and keeps the readings with that workout on your phone. Android 11 and earlier require location permission before any app can scan for Bluetooth devices; Set Tally never reads or keeps your location.

Face ID, fingerprint and the app lock. If you turn on the app lock, your phone checks your face or fingerprint; Set Tally learns only whether the check passed. Your passcode is kept on your phone.

Music. On iPhone, with your permission, the app shows the song playing during a workout and can skip it or save it to your Set Tally playlist. It reads nothing else from your library.

Backups and files. Set Tally saves a backup in its own folder on your phone each time you finish a workout and whenever you tap SAVE FILE, and it can lock backups with a passphrase (Encrypted backup). Files you export or share — a backup, a spreadsheet, a Strava file, a workout or routine — go only where you send them, and once a file leaves the app it is yours to manage. Files you import — another app’s workout export, or your scale maker’s export — are read on your phone, and only the readings you keep are saved. Nothing is sent to us.

Subscription. Your subscription is handled by the App Store or Google Play under your Apple ID or Google account. Set Tally asks the store only whether it is active; we never receive your payment details.

What we do not do. No accounts. No advertising. No analytics or crash reporting. No tracking across apps or websites. No selling or sharing of your information.

Children. Set Tally is for adults 18 and older. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, child or adult. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

How long information is kept. Everything the app stores is on your phone and stays there until you delete it or delete the app. We keep no copy and no record of your use.

Security. Your log is protected by your phone’s own passcode, encryption and backups, and by the app lock and encrypted backups if you turn them on. Plain backup and export files are not encrypted; keep them where you keep other private files. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices. Change any permission in your phone’s settings, delete any entry in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your phone. FORGOT PASSCODE on the lock screen also erases everything the app has stored. We hold nothing to delete on request. If you believe we hold information about you, email [email protected] and we will answer within 45 days.

California residents. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act give you rights over personal information about you, including the rights to know, access, delete and correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Set Tally collects no personal information about you and we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. To exercise any right you may have, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Users outside the United States. Set Tally is offered in the United States. Because the app sends us no personal information, nothing about you is transferred to or stored in the United States by us.

Do Not Track. Set Tally does not track you across other websites or apps, and no third party collects information about you over time through the app. Because the app does not track, it has no response to Do Not Track signals from a browser or device.

Changes. This policy may be revised at any time. When an update alters this policy, the Legal card is revised to match and the date above changes.
